As our team continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join us.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a civil or structural drafting role.
· Proficiency in Vertex BD is essential.
· Experience with structural steel and light gauge steel detailing.
· Familiarity with engineering software such as ClearCalcs or SkyCiv.
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
· Qualification in civil engineering, structural design, or a related discipline.
· High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate documentation.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time role based in Mickleham, with occasional site visits required. The successful candidate will focus on 3D design outputs of complete structures, using Vertex BD software and following our set detailing and production management procedures. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and our manufacturing team to progress jobs from architectural plans to machine-ready and site-ready 3D models.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Interpret architectural drawings and prepare 3D structural models using Vertex BD.
· Prepare sketches, tabulations, charts, and detailed designs for civil and structural steel works.
· Use engineering tables and software (e.g., ClearCalcs, SkyCiv) to inform and validate detailing work.
· Prepare layout and fabrication drawings for light gauge steel and structural steel components.
· Perform and direct fieldwork where required to support design accuracy.
· Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, specifications, and contract provisions.
· Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs are practical and efficient.
· Assist in estimating material usage and planning production requirements.
