Job Description
AECOM is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join the (Highway) Transportation Planning and Preliminary Design group in our Markham, ON office.
This is a full-time position expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Working within the (Highway) Transportation Planning and Preliminary Design group on the planning and design of provincial highway facilities
  • Preparation of reports, conceptual and preliminary design plans, technical specifications and presentation materials
  • Collaborating with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers, technicians and planners
  • Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks including preparing planning and engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids
  • Following corporate quality procedures
  • Effectively communicating (written & oral) with peers

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Will be completing or have completed their Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Relevant internship experience in support of transportation design
  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset
  • Excellent English technical and non-technical writing skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in AutoCAD, Civil3D, InRoads or OpenRoads software
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
