Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate to join our Water team. The role will be on a regular full-time basis and will be based in our Hamilton office (hybrid). The Civil Engineering Graduate would be responsible for assisting engineering staff to design and provide contract administration during construction on a variety of engineering projects. Though most of our work focuses on collaboration, there are some tasks that would require you to work individually to perform a variety of assignments which may include calculations, field work, coordination of tasks and personnel. As a valued team member, you may lead the analysis of proposed projects or work on tasks with a focus on reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness.  Your Key Responsibilities  * Act as a Civil Engineering Graduate for multiple projects, including a range of small and large, straightforward and complex projects.  * Provide technical assistance and input on linear infrastructure projects, including civil conveyance design for watermain, storm, and sanitary sewer projects, from preliminary design to detailed design, tendering and construction inspection, with consideration for minimizing impacts and constraints due to environmental and permitting requirements. * Assist the lead engineer in the preparation of engineering calculations, design reports, design drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates Participate in preliminary and detailed design of linear infrastructure. * Perform data analysis, data entry and collect meeting summaries to support projects and tasks, as required.  * Work collaboratively with Project Engineers, Technologists and Project Managers to assist in planning, preparing master plans, and environmental assessments, design, CAD drafting, and preparation of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates in connection with a variety of civil engineering projects. * Perform field reviews for data collection, drawing and/or design development, site status updates, construction site inspections and/or meetings, and record drawings. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
