Job Description
AECOM is seeking to hire a Civil Engineer to help support projects in San Jose, CA.
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
- Develops and reviews civil engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various infrastructure projects.
- Conducts site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineering specialists.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all project phases.
- Utilizes computer-aided design software to create detailed drawings and models.
- Participates in client meetings and presentations to communicate project updates and technical information.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- California Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain registration within twelve months.
- Experience preparing major components of highway improvement project package.
- Ability to use Microstation, InRoads, AutoCad, or Civil 3D for design and plan production.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively with a project team.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Design Build experience preferred.
