Job Description: Civil Engineering Intern Qatar Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Doha, Qatar! In this role, you will support Engineers and Designers in delivering coordinated civil designs and/or site supervision activities on multidisciplinary projects, gaining exposure to real-world engineering workflows, tools, standards, and construction practices. You will work closely with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to design development, site support, and technical documentation within a professional consulting environment. Interns are encouraged not only to learn, but also to contribute to project outputs, engage with engineering teams, and develop their professional skills through mentorship, professional exposure on live projects, and networking opportunities. What You’ll Be Doing Assisting Engineers with civil design layouts, basic calculations, and engineering drawings. Helping prepare engineering deliverables, including plans, sections, diagrams, and simple reports under supervision. Using CAD and other engineering software (as directed) to assist in preparing design documents and figures. Supporting site supervision teams with inspections, site walkdowns, and basic monitoring of work progress under guidance. Assisting in reviewing contractor submissions, as-built information, and site records. Collecting, organizing, and reviewing project data such as surveys, as-built records, site photos, vendor information, and technical specifications. Updating drawings and documents based on redlines and markups from senior staff. Supporting coordination between different disciplines by updating design and/or site information and tracking changes. Assisting with technical documentation, presentations, and meeting materials, and following up on action items. Learning and applying relevant standards, codes, and Parsons procedures as guided by senior staff. What Required Skills You’ll Bring Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at an accredited institution in Qatar. Fundamental understanding of core civil engineering principles. Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) for 2D drafting and drawing updates. Interest in both design work and construction projects, including on-site activities and supervision tasks. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings (plans, sections, and details). Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow engineering standards and procedures. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and eagerness to learn. What Desired Skills You’ll Bring Exposure to discipline-specific software (e.g., Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD, ETAP, or similar) through coursework or projects. Familiarity with construction/site practices or prior exposure to site work. Familiarity with basic design workflows and documentation practices from academic or prior internship experience. Experience using Adobe Acrobat for viewing and marking up drawings and documents. Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, with a proactive attitude and strong interest in a career in engineering and consulting.
