Description
The Village of Carol Stream is now accepting applicants for a summer employment opportunity within our Engineering Services Department. This is a temporary position performing moderately technical engineering duties, under the direction of the Senior Civil Engineer. The primary responsibility will be assisting our Engineering Inspectors in the field with the Village’s construction projects. Duties may include monitoring construction methods, measuring quantities, and performing basic surveying. When not on construction projects, other field duties may include performing condition assessments on stormwater facilities, inventorying Village assets using GIS, and inspecting permitted construction sites. Additionally, the position will assist with office tasks that may include data entry into management software, document research, assisting with permit reviews, and creating maps with GIS. Pay is $20 per hour, with a standard 40-hour/week schedule, excluding holidays. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related program, possess a valid Illinois driver’s license, and have the ability to communicate effectively with contractors and the public.
