Luddon Construction are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering / Site Manager to join our dynamic Building Division Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating site staff, managing resources efficiently, and upholding company policies while maintaining strong client relationships. Your expertise in civil engineering, site management, and health & safety compliance will be essential in driving successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To direct the necessary labour, plant, staff and equipment to achieve section completion on time, to specification and within budget
  • Carry out site visits to monitor that the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Plan is being effectively implemented
  • Assess the scope of works prior to commencement
  • Visit clients as necessary to monitor effectiveness of existing contracts and to try to win new work
  • Implement company policies and procedures applicable to their project works to ensure they are applied effectively
  • Represent the company at post tender, pre-start, progress and final account meetings with external individuals
  • Procurement/ordering materials
  • Supporting Site Engineer
  • Quality Control of Works
  • Represent the company at internal company meetings e.g. handover meetings and cost meetings with internal individuals

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To work with the PM, Foreman and Engineers to organise the site so that work is carried out to the appropriate standard with minimum risk to people, equipment and materials.
  • To know and have observed the requirements of all relevant legislation, approved codes of practice and procedures set out within the Health and Safety Management System. In particular, all registers, records and reports must be in order and to see that persons appointed to operate plant and machinery has received sufficient training to operate them safely
  • To provide personnel working under their supervision with precise working instructions of their responsibilities for correct working methods to ensure that they do not allow personnel to take unnecessary risks
