Australian Indigenous Business Services Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our team, providing technical support to major infrastructure and civil construction projects across New South Wales and Victoria.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • AQF Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Materials Engineering desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in civil engineering technology, materials testing, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in laboratory and field-testing procedures in line with Australian and International standards.
  • Experience in geotechnical data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of construction material specifications and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Current Construction Induction (White Card) or the ability to obtain prior to commencing work.
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to work across multiple project sites.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on large-scale civil or infrastructure projects in Australia.
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and supplier liaison for construction materials.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials, including soil, concrete, and rock, in accordance with Australian Standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical and materials testing reports, including data interpretation and quality control analysis.
  • Conduct site sampling, drilling, and installation of geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Assist engineers in monitoring and assessing ground conditions and material suitability for construction.
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, and cost estimates under engineer supervision.
  • Inspect Civil Engineering works, monitoring progress and ensuring finished works comply with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate construction activities on site as directed, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets and WHS Standards.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment.
  • Support procurement and quality assurance procedures for construction materials.
  • Ensure all activities comply with WHS standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
