REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

As per the ANZSCO definition for a Civil Engineering Technician (312212), candidates must have:

  • Skill Level: A relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (or equivalent). A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for drafting and design.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, plumbing systems, and construction techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will assist in designing, planning, and executing plumbing and civil engineering projects. You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design Support: Assist in drafting and reviewing technical drawings, plans, and specifications for plumbing and civil engineering projects.
  • Site Supervision: Monitor construction sites to ensure work adheres to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
  • Material Testing: Conduct tests on construction materials, including soil, concrete, and pipelines, to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Survey Assistance: Perform field surveys and collect data to support project design and execution.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate reports, project logs, and as-built drawings for completed projects.
