QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting is essential
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Proficient in Civil 3D (2020 and up)
  • Understanding of Municipal Infrastructure
  • Excellent organizational, computer and writing skills
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with drafting and assisting on tender documents, technical specifications, schedule of quantities, and construction cost estimates would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/positive attitude and ability to work in a team atmosphere is required
  • Driver’s license in good standing required

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Arcadis’ Ottawa office is searching for a Civil Engineering Technologist to join its growing team. As a member of Land Engineering group, the selected candidate’s role will consist in providing support to senior engineers and project managers on a broad variety of projects and tasks.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Design and drafting for the preparation of civil works drawings for land development projects including; subdivisions, commercial and industrial sites as well as public sector capital infrastructure projects including roads, transit, deep utilities, and streetscape projects
  • Supporting existing field team in a range of field activities including the review and preparation of field data
  • Assist with projects from developing plans, section details, schedules, and quantity take-offs
  • Attend client, municipal, and authority meetings
  • Completion of tasks received from Project Managers
  • Ability to resolve and/or communicate any technical issues that may arise
  • Assist with the Coordination of obtainment of municipal approvals
  • Preparation of detailed construction drawings and detailsThe provision of quality control on drafting, presentations, and design for any given drawing package
