Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review detailed Civil3D models for land development, municipal infrastructure, and transportation projects.
  • Create and oversee erosion and sediment control plans, grading, servicing, stormwater management, and site plan drawings.
  • Prepare plan, profile, section, and earthworks drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Lead the coordination of designs and drawings with internal team members and external consultants.
  • Represent the company in client and stakeholder meetings, fostering strong relationships and identifying business development opportunities.
  • Ensure projects meet approval authority guidelines, by-laws, and codes.
  • Mentor and train junior technologists and EITs on best practices in civil design and drafting.
  • Proactively improve design and modeling techniques to enhance team efficiency.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to collect field data, review contractor progress, and document findings in standardized reports.
  • Support construction reviews to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Prepare engineering reports and support technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of company processes and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by Civil Division Manager/Team Lead.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible for or holding a C.Tech., C.E.T. designation through OACETT or L.E.T. designation PEO are preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in land development, municipal infrastructure, and/or transportation engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of approval processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil3D and MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior technicians/technologists.
  • Exceptional drafting skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High level of organization and time management.
  • Commitment to professional development and a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
