The Opportunity We are currently seeking Civil Field Engineering Inspection interns for our Transportation-Construction Management team in the Salem and NOVA, VA areas. As a Civil Field Engineering Inspection intern, you will collaborate with and be mentored by top engineering associates on our team while gaining hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Construction Management profession. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and be enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Support inspection teams with field inspections Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work Collect and prepare data for evaluation Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment Prepare reports for site operations activities, including materials used and completed work Provide support to engineering and project management associates Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related program at an ABET-accredited university Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Good driving record with a valid driver’s license Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protection Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds Preferred Qualifications: Prior internship or related experience An Equal Opportunity Employer.
