Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Civil Foreman to oversee site operations and ensure the smooth execution of civil works for high-rise building projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing a construction site, supervising labor, ensuring the quality of work, and maintaining safety standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Civil Foreman will coordinate with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to execute civil works including foundation, structure, drainage systems, roadworks, and other related tasks. The Foreman will be responsible for supervising daily activities, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Foreman in high-rise building projects or large-scale construction projects, with proven expertise in managing site civil works.
  • Education: A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of civil construction techniques, materials, and standards for high-rise buildings.
  • Familiarity with construction tools, machinery, and equipment used in civil works.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in site management software and basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Site Operations:
  • Supervise and direct daily construction activities on-site for high-rise building projects.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of civil works such as excavation, foundation work, structural elements, formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, finishing works, etc.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and laborers.
  • Monitor and maintain the workforce schedule to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to project timelines.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all civil works are carried out as per project specifications, drawings, and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure quality control and compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Verify that materials, tools, and equipment used in construction meet project requirements.
  • Report and resolve any issues or non-compliance with design specifications, project timelines, or quality standards.
  • Safety Management:
  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and practices on-site.
  • Conduct daily site safety checks and ensure the workforce uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Serve as the key point of contact between the site team, subcontractors, and higher management (engineers, project managers).
  • Report progress, issues, delays, and risks to site engineers and project managers.
  • Attend regular site meetings to discuss project updates, issues, and requirements.
  • Material and Resource Management:
  • Ensure the proper inventory management of construction materials on-site and ensure timely procurement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and equipment as per the construction schedule.
  • Optimize the use of labor and materials to minimize wastage and cost.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, labor reports, material usage, and work progress.
  • Prepare reports for site engineers and project managers on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and other documentation for project completion.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Quickly identify and address any site-related issues or conflicts, ensuring minimal impact on the project timeline.
  • Implement corrective actions for any quality or schedule deviations.
