Job Description We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Inspector to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You'll work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and engineers to monitor construction progress and verify adherence to contract specifications and applicable codes. Analyze applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents to ensure comprehensive compliance with all requirements Conduct thorough inspections of construction and subcontractor work to verify safe and workmanlike operations Verify equipment settings, alignment, testing, and energization requirements according to project specifications Maintain detailed familiarity with project drawings, specifications, health and safety measures, and all associated updates Monitor contractor compliance with contract standards and specifications, ensuring consistent adherence throughout the project lifecycle Maintain accurate records of contractor resources, including personnel and equipment allocation on a daily basis Perform site supervision and inspections as required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) Liaise daily with contractors to ensure effective resource management, health and safety protocols, and equipment coordination on site Prepare comprehensive daily reports for the RE or ARE, documenting work orders, material deliveries, and inspection programs Implement and follow up on all site instructions issued by the RE and ARE in a timely and efficient manner Apply and enforce all quality control procedures and quality assurance protocols established for the project Conduct site measurements and surveying checks as needed by the RE or ARE for pipe alignments, levels, and other critical dimensions Coordinate and cooperate with client project managers during site inspections in collaboration with the RE or ARE Assist the ARE and RE in preparing correspondence that complies with contract documents and site requirements Work collaboratively with the RE or ARE to identify and resolve site problems promptly and effectively Monitor project start-up, commissioning, and handover activities while maintaining detailed records of project milestones Maintain comprehensive records of all materials testing and executed works for project documentation Conduct audit inspections to verify conformity to contract documents and contractor-submitted plans Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in similar construction projects Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the United Arab Emirates Proven experience in infrastructure and roads projects comparable to the role requirements Demonstrated expertise in site inspection, supervision, and construction monitoring Required Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical drawings and contract documents Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping Competency in surveying, measurement, and alignment verification Knowledge of health and safety compliance standards and procedures Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders Strong time management and efficiency in completing tasks Additional Information About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
