Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

We are seeking a skilled Civil Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Services team at Auckland Airport. In this full-time, permanent role, you will deliver both planned and reactive civil maintenance services across the airport precinct. The position involves working both night and day shifts during runway closures within the same week, with a requirement to be available for on-call duties. The starting pay rate is $27.04 per hour, with opportunities for progression to higher rate of $30.63 within the team once deemed competent in core tasks.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

  • Undertake preventative, corrective and/or responsive maintenance work
  • Carry out regulatory inspections and manage critical spares
  • Conduct asset preventative and predictive inspections
  • Manage contractors on site and ensure all records are up to date
  • Conduct first response to airfield pavement faults
  • Delivery of the preventative maintenance scheduled tasks
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders.
  • Work with other team members to undertake pavement maintenance tasks such as asphalt patch repairs, concrete repairs, drill & spike, epoxy injection and various other maintenance tasks
  • Being able to work during the runway closures.
  • Adhere to all health and safety and maintenance procedures and processes

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Civil Trade, roading and construction related roles.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence, combined with the ability to build strong networks with key stakeholders.
  • Well-developed skills as a team contributor, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively at different levels.
  • NZQA Level 1 Traffic Management (desirable but not compulsory)
  • Full Class 1 and 2 NZ Manual Driver’s license
  • Forklift license and traffic management (desirable but not compulsory)
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • A positive can-do attitude
