Role Highlights The role reports to the Civil Marine Maintenance Superintendent and focuses on maintaining infrastructures that reside in or near water bodies (from sheet piles toward the waterside including the sheet piles), ensuring they can withstand various environmental stresses and meet safety standards.  The Civil Marine Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planned and reactive maintenance works for the FPA inner harbour Berth and Jetties infrastructures including but not limited to scoping, cost and schedule management, safety and quality control as well as on-site supervision of contractors ensuring compliance with designs, specifications and industry best practice.  Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:  * Day to day execution of maintenance duties on the marine civil assets such as piles, suspended deck, superstructure and seawalls repairs and other tasks associated with the Ports Marine Civil assets including small projects management. * Manage Marine Civil Contractors executing Planned maintenance works (PM’s), Reactive maintenance and major maintenance projects and shutdowns including but not limited to: * Preparation of scopes of works for.  * Review current inspection report and asset register. * Assess Planned and Reactive maintenance requirements and any safety issues. * Facilitate and coordinate site and safety inductions and permits for contractor’s staff on-site supervision of Contractor as surveillance officer, monitoring compliance as required by Quality and Safety Management Plans and all statutory requirements. * Assist Superintendent with the preparation of maintenance projects budget and work schedules. * Update assets register with works completed and condition change * Inform the Maintenance planners of the status of maintenance tasks previously requested, to find out about new tasks that have been requested, and to find out about the availability of assets that need repair What Makes You a Great Fit Qualifications and Experience: Designated - Essential * Trade Qualifications in Civil and Marine Construction or extensive relevant experience (15+ years). Desirable * Tertiary Qualifications in Civil, Construction or related engineering discipline. * Qualifications in Contract Administration, Project management or Maintenance Management. * Diving qualifications Technical, Professional and Specialist Skills: Designated - Essential * Experience in Marine Civil Infrastructure construction or maintenance. * Experience in Maintenance Supervision and Contract Administration skills. * Proven experience in a similar role * Positive and proactive approach to problem solving * Extended knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel * Good written, verbal, communication and negotiation skills. * Sound knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations relating to maintenance management  * Sound knowledge of the new Occupational Health & Safety Act/ Regulations and demonstrated ability to implement and ensure a safe work environment. * Possess current ‘C’ or ‘CA’ class driver’s licence What We Offer Join Fremantle Ports and be part of a proud organisation with a rich history and culture that makes a significant contribution to the WA economy.
