Description:
We currently require a Civil Planning Project Manager for the Central QLD Coast region interested in joining us and capable of committing to the following assignment for a period of approximately 2 years with a possibility of ongoing extensions and other projects.
This is a great long term opportunity for a Civil Planning Project Manager with up to 5 years road / bridge Infrastructure experience.
MANDATORY EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years’ civil construction experience in the planning, management, design, construction, maintenance or contract administration of projects relating to road and transport infrastructure in Queensland, Australia;
Demonstrated experience in some aspects of road and transport infrastructure planning, design and construction;
Demonstrated sound consultation, conflict avoidance, and group facilitation skills; and
Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising projects to QLD TMR policies, standards and specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS – AN ADVANTAGE (ALTHOUGH NOT MANDATORY)
A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification, which is accepted by the Institution of Engineers Australia.
A degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Project Management qualifications.
RPEQ certified
The role is proposed to be 40 hrs per week, which has some flexibility regarding daily hours & ’on-site’ requirements. The roles are Central QLD Coast based, however some work away in regional or remote locations may be required depending on requirements.
You must have the right to work in Australia, with well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills, a current drivers licence & own mobile phone.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Overall responsibility for the successful initiation & planning phases of road & bridge infrastructure projects. Must be skilled with the ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions, resolve conflicts, mentor other project managers/engineers, as well as more general management skills.
A primary role is to ensure the planning for projects is being executed to standards whilst tracking progress of works against budget and time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake transport and traffic studies resulting in the preparation of area, route and link strategies, project proposals, option analysis and business cases.
Participate in transport modelling, analysing complex and extensive data sets to make sound engineering judgements and recommendations.
Engage external consultants by preparing transport planning briefs, calling quotations, letting tenders, conducting negotiations and project managing outcomes.
