Job Description We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our Stormwater Group in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs. Provide engineering assistance for the design of best management practices (BMPs), low impact development (LID) solutions, natural stream restoration, and other stormwater related projects. Understanding of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control. Provide technical expertise and check accuracy of all completed work. Assure that a QA/QC review is completed at the appropriate stages of each project. Prepare project specifications to include materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project. Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums. Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems. Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates. Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed Communicate with clients and internal design team as directed by the Project Manager. Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: B.S. degree in civil engineering or equivalent with work experience. EIT preferred. 3 to 6+ years’ experience in environmental/civil engineering including experience in stream and wetland restoration design. A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred).
