Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As part of SSEN Transmission Pathway to 2030 programme of works and beyond, we are looking for a Civil Project Engineer to help drive forward our projects and who can bring big ideas, new skills and innovative thinking to help us grow our teams to successfully deliver a network for Net Zero. Many of our projects are in the Highlands, Western Isles and Aberdeenshire, so a willingness to travel to that area or locally based engineers are desirable.

- Be responsible for Civil Engineering delivery on assigned projects of typical capital value £200M - £2B.

  • Promote and manage safety within assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and safety in design. Fulfilling the role of Designer or Principal Designer under CDM.
  • Take responsibility for defining scope of civil engineering design and validation and verification of civil engineering designs. Providing ongoing civil engineering support during delivery stages of assigned projects including dealing with RFIs, TQs and PMIs.
  • Provide technical input for your specialist discipline as well as interfacing with other technical and project functions to ensure a co-ordinated approach to project delivery and identification and resolution of key risks.
  • Offer site support as required during the construction phase including site supervision, resolution of design/construction issues on site and identification of non-conformances/quality issues and close out of issues
