Description

Reporting to the Executive Manager- Civil, the Civil Region Manager – Northeast role leads our regional civil business within our Northeast region, specifically Queensland and New South Wales. This role has full P&L accountability and accountability for performance, people, safety, and growth. You’ll oversee the end-to-end function, including sales, field service, civil sales and regional operations—driving commercial outcomes and a customer-first culture. Your impact will extend beyond the P&L, influencing national strategy through local execution.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Execute the civil strategy to meet the civil sales and field service budget
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales, field and operations team across multiple sites
  • Drive performance growth through direct and team-led business development
  • Foster a unified and engaged cross site culture aligned with Aptella’s values
  • Champion a safety-first mindset and ensure WHS standards are exceeded
  • Collaborate and support the field service teams, work closely with the Executive Manager, Services to maximise customer value for our customers.
  • Together with the Civil Sales Managers, drive key negotiations and key customer relationships.
  • Own the regional Civil area within the P&L, OPEX, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Together with the Business Area Managers, Geospatial, Building Construction and Mining teams, drive profitable outcomes
  • Lead continuous improvement of systems, processes, and service delivery
  • Oversee capacity planning and prioritisation to deliver against KPIs
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations for your team
  • Deliver on strategic business plans through localised initiatives
  • Report on regional performance and ensure alignment with national goals
  • Extensive travel between NSW & QLD

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL HAVE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in business-to-business leadership roles, preferably within civil construction, earthmoving, or related sectors across multiples states and/or sites
  • A strong track record in sales and business development with proven commercial outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgets, and resource planning at a regional level
  • A collaborative, people-first leadership style with the ability to engage, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and a commitment to fostering a strong safety culture
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including with remote teams and across functions
  • Technical aptitude to understand and support complex solutions tailored to customer needs
  • High levels of drive, resilience, and a passion for continuous improvement and business growth
