JOB SUMMARY:

The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing piling and shoring activities on construction sites. This role requires a strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to ensure that all work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in piling and shoring works, preferably in a site engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of piling techniques, shoring systems, and geotechnical principles.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office, or similar).
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with deep excavation, ground improvement, and soil stabilization techniques.
  • Knowledge of advanced piling methods.

Responsibilities
  • Project Execution:
  • Supervise and manage piling and shoring operations on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Monitor and inspect piling and shoring works, including driven piles, bored piles, sheet piles, and retaining walls.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Review and interpret geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions for piling and shoring challenges.
  • Conduct site investigations and soil analysis to inform design and construction decisions.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all piling and shoring works meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and tests to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed site reports, progress updates, and as-built drawings.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
  • Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures on-site.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all safety measures are in place.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among site personnel.
  • Project Management:
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, ensuring timely completion of piling and shoring activities.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and materials efficiently.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
