JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Learning to apply standard Engineering tasks. Begins working knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Works within prescribed budgets and schedules.
  • Performs routine, and some non-routine and complicated engineering designs and calculations in accordance with established standards.
  • Assists in preparing and coordinating Engineering reports, studies, calculations, etc. as required.
  • Participates in conferences with client to establish project objectives and resolve design problems.
  • Checks and approves internal and/or vendor drawings.
  • Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Typical site development projects may include site planning, grading & stormwater management, and utilities design.
  • Typical structural projects may include structural steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and cold formed steel design.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil (structural emphasis) or Structural Engineering.
Experience as a structural engineer as demonstrated by 0-2 years of previous engineering experience.
Working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit and/or Microstation
Working knowledge of IBC and ASCE codes.
Working knowledge of Structural modeling programs (STADD, GT Strudl, etc.) a plus.
EIT License is required.
Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as Microsoft Office Suite and software used for specific technical applications within the department.
Have good level of verbal and written communication skills.
