About the role Techno is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee and support projects involving building concrete work, civil site work, paving, drainage systems, hydrant and fuel systems, structural work, and maintenance of traffic, with additional exposure to electrical, environmental, and plumbing systems. What you'll do Communicate effectively with the Resident Engineer, contract staff, and facility personnel. Read and interpret plans and specifications; prepare daily reports and inspection documentation. Identify and report potential extra work issues; review plans for constructability. Conduct preconstruction and progress meetings, coordinate multiple work locations, and perform inspections. Ensure quality assurance, safety compliance, and contractor coordination with facility operations. Maintain working knowledge of NYC Building Code (NYCBC). Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting construction work varying in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift). Valid Driver's License required. Ability to work night and weekend shifts as required. Ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance or SIDA at Airports or TWIC at Ports. Trained in OSHA 30-hour construction safety. ICC/NICET Level 3 Asphalt or Highway Construction; ACI Concrete Special Inspector; and Work Zone Safety Certifications are desirable. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
