Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Civil Supervisor will oversee construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. With over a decade of experience, the candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a strong ability to manage teams and subcontractors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in civil or infrastructure projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with construction software like AutoCAD, Primavera, or MS Project.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and decision-making capability.
- Certifications (preferred):
- PMP (Project Management Professional), NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Project Supervision:
- Oversee daily construction activities and ensure work aligns with project specifications, drawings, and standards.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to resolve technical issues.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance to the workforce.
- Conduct regular meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and plan future tasks.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure construction quality meets company standards and client requirements.
- Conduct inspections and verify that work complies with blueprints and engineering plans.
- Safety Compliance:
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations on-site.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers.
- Material and Resource Management:
- Oversee the procurement, delivery, and storage of materials.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of equipment and resources.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
- Submit regular updates to project stakeholders and suggest process improvements.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets and control expenditures.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
