JOB TYPE: FULL-TIME JOB

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil/Structural Engineer with strong Revit skills and design experience in wood framing to join our pre-construction team. This role involves reviewing architectural and structural plans, ensuring code compliance, and supporting estimation and coordination for multifamily residential projects that follow U.S. construction standards, particularly within seismic regions such as California.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in RFI coordination for architectural/structural scopes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wood framing design within multifamily or light commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes, especially for California projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, and BIM coordination tools.
  • Proven experience in pre-construction CSI trades and multifamily project estimation aligned with U.S. standards.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • EIT/EI certification preferred; pursuing PE license in California is highly encouraged.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably with a pre-construction focus.

Responsibilities
  • Review architectural and structural plans with a focus on building design, materials, structural systems, and wood framing techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes including CBC, LAMC, ADA, CALGreen, and ASCE 7 seismic design standards.
  • Identify and draft RFIs for architectural and structural discrepancies; coordinate resolution across design teams.
  • Support pre-construction tasks including cost estimation, value engineering, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with BIM and design teams using AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, and other BIM tools.
  • Maintain and organize documentation in line with CSI divisions and multifamily estimation standards.
