We are currently hiring a qualified Civil Works Inspector to join our team for an upcoming project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in civil works inspection or site supervision.
• Certification in quality assurance/inspection (e.g., QA/QC certification, Abu Dhabi Engineers License card) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera, or similar)
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards in construction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and quality standards.
• Familiarity with construction codes and standards (e.g., local codes).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil and structural drawings.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying defects and issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and contractors.
• Working knowledge of testing equipment and construction materials.

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily inspections of civil works, including excavation, concrete placement, reinforcement, masonry, roadworks, and finishing works.
2. Verify that all civil works adhere to approved designs, drawings, specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
3. Ensure proper implementation of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures at all stages of construction.
4. Inspect and verify the quality of construction materials delivered to the site, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
5. Monitor storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or deterioration.
6. Ensure that construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
7. Identify and document non-conformances, and collaborate with contractors to implement corrective actions.
8. Monitor the progress of civil works against the project schedule and provide regular updates to the project team.
9. Highlight any potential delays or risks to timely completion and recommend mitigation strategies.
10. Maintain detailed inspection records, including reports, photographs, and checklists, for all civil works activities.
11. Review and approve contractors’ method statements, work procedures, and inspection test plans.
12. Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure proper execution of civil works.
13. Participate in site meetings to discuss progress, quality, and safety issues.
14. Witness and verify field and laboratory testing of materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates.
15. Approve completed works after ensuring compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
16. Ensure adherence to site safety protocols during civil works activities.
17. Report unsafe practices and work with the safety team to address hazards.
