ABOUT WESSEX INTERNET
We are a fast-growing, innovative Internet provider, delivering full-fibre broadband across rural areas in the Southwest, including Dorset, Somerset, New Forest, and now expanding our network into Wiltshire. Dedicated to delivering lightning-fast broadband to thousands of countryside homes and businesses, we are different to most Alt Nets in that we design, build, and operate our own network to ensure every connection meets our high standards.
Late last year, we celebrated an exciting milestone in connecting our 10,000th customer to our full-fibre service. This achievement highlights our commitment to exceptional customer service and is reflected in our customer reviews and trust pilot scores.
We’re a growing business built on teamwork, where each contribution is valued and has a part to play in our successes. With a focus on personal and professional growth, we offer endless opportunities to make an impact. As we continue to grow, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our team.

THE ROLE
The Foreman is responsible for the full ownership of the build and completion of assigned rural fibre infrastructure projects. This includes leading a construction team from a technical, practical, and safety perspective to ensure delivery meets required standards.
Reporting to the Rural Build Manager, the Foreman manages day-to-day site activities and line-manages construction personnel within the Network Delivery team. The role also involves oversight and upkeep of specialist plant equipment and vehicles used in the delivery of rural network builds.
A key part of the role is working closely with the planning team to shape realistic and efficient build plans, bringing in practical knowledge to ensure deliverability within time and cost constraints. As projects are largely delivered in agricultural and rural environments, a sound understanding of farming practices and groundworks is essential. The Foreman is expected to apply a practical, solutions-focused mindset throughout each stage of delivery.
This is a hands-on role, requiring regular on-site presence and active involvement in the build. Given that construction teams are often the public face of Wessex Internet, professionalism, cleanliness, and respectful conduct in the community are expected at all times. While focused on productivity and cost KPIs, the Foreman is also responsible for supporting wider business goals—including working with other departments to help maximise customer take-up in built areas.
