We are currently delivering upgrades on clean water plants in West Sussex area and are looking for a proven supervisor to join our team. The Role As a Site Supervisor you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of on-site activities including supervising teams, coordinating resources, and acting as a key interface between site personnel, subcontractors, and management. This is a hands-on site based working role. What You’ll Be Doing 1) Technical Responsibilities - Site Supervision Supervise on-site teams, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure efficient workflow. Undertake daily briefs, allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance. Ensure staff adhere to company standards, procedures, and site rules. Monitor use of materials, plant, and equipment. Report shortages, delays, or equipment issues to the Foreman or Project Manager. Support subcontractor coordination and verification of work completed. Assist in the planning and scheduling of site activities in coordination with Project Managers and Foremen. Monitor progress, report delays or issues, and propose corrective actions. Ensure all work is carried out to project specifications, drawings, and regulatory standards. 2) Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality & Compliance Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies on site. Conduct daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site inspections. Report incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly and accurately. Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including work progress, inspections, and material usage. Support QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with company and client standards. Assist with site handovers and defect management. 3) Stakeholder Communication Act as the first point of contact for on-site queries from operatives and subcontractors. Provide regular updates to the Site Manager Liaise with clients, inspectors, or other site visitors when required. 4) Key Interfaces: Internal Interfaces Site Manager / Assistant Site Manager Health & Safety / QA-QC Teams Engineering / Design Team External Interfaces Subcontractors & Suppliers Regulatory Authorities / Local Authorities 5) Core Values Uphold and promote the Company’s Core Values – Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability. You may be required to undertake additional duties, consistent with the responsibilities and level of this role, beyond those specified above. What We’re Looking For Essential SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) certification. Valid UK CSCS card (or equivalent) for site access and verification of competence. Ability to read drawings, plan works and put site operatives to work Understanding of excavation / formation levels Basic Health & Safety awareness relevant to construction sites. Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role on construction or engineering projects. Hands-on experience supervising site teams, subcontractors, and operatives. Experience ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Desirable NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. First Aid at Work certification. Experience liaising with clients, consultants, or regulatory authorities. Experience with QA/QC processes and project documentation. Why Join Trant?
