Description

We have an exciting and rare opportunity to be a part of the experienced legal team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust The role will involve taking on a varied caseload in a very busy but friendly department, working to tight deadlines. This post represents an excellent opportunity for a professional with a passion for high quality (and occasionally high profile) medico-legal work. The post holder will provide professional support for Trust claims and inquest work aswell as assisting under supervision with advisory and Court of Protection matters.

  • To provide an effective claims management and inquest service for the Trustincluding clinical negligence; employer and public liability matters.
  • Responsibility for complying with disclosure and obtaining witnessstatements from relevant Trust staff in relations to inquests or claims.
  • Notify and report to the Head of Quality and Compliance/ Claims and Inquest Manager any claims trends or issues relating to clinical processes or staff conductarising out of any claims or inquests.
  • To assist with advising on general healthcare law, support with Court of Protection applications and other clinical legal issues.
  • To assist with the preparation of reports, databases, management of internal case management systems and delivery of internal training sessions.

  • All duties must be carried out within the scope of Trust policy and procedures. You must never undertake any duties that are outside your area of skill or knowledge. If in doubt, you must seek clarification from a more senior member of the Legal Services Department.
