About the role

We’re looking for an Income Protection Claims Assessor or a Claims Assessor from a broader Insurance background to join our team, where you’ll play a key role in supporting our customers at important moments in their lives.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll assess Income Protection claims, balancing sound commercial judgement with fairness and empathy. You’ll help ensure we deliver a high-quality service that supports our customers, protects our business, and reinforces our reputation as a trusted insurer.

What you’ll be doing

• Assessing and managing Income Protection claims accurately and in line with policy terms, procedures and claims philosophy
• Reviewing ongoing claims and contributing to effective case managementplansSupporting customers throughout the claims journey — from approval through to return to work, and sensitively handling declined claims where necessaryLiaising with medical professionals, financial advisers, and internal teams to gather and assess information
• Building relationships with policyholders through regular contact, helping to deliver a smooth and positive claims experience
• Arranging independent assessments, treatments, home visits and investigations where appropriate
• Producing clear and professional correspondence to a range of stakeholders
• Keeping up to date with industry developments and supporting continuous improvement of claims processes and service.
