As a Claims Consultant, you will manage a portfolio of life insurance claims across IP/TPD multi funds and related benefits. You’ll play a key role in supporting our customers when they need us most, managing the portfolio with care, empathy, and confidence.In this role you will:A key focus of this role involves providing a best-in-class customer and client (e.g. advisers, trustees, fund administrators) experience, including regular communication in relation to the status of claims and managing expectations, to deliver on quality health and claim outcomes. Independently managing a portfolio of TPD and IP claims end-to-endAssess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims paymentsActive engagement of external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants as well as in house medical and legal specialists and delivering timely outcomes for our customerProvide exceptional customer service in accordance with our philosophy, policy and claims proceduresParticipate in case conferences, peer case discussions, and instructing third party service providersContributing to team and company initiatives that make a difference to our customers and our people.QualificationsSignificant experience managing group life insurance claims assessment, ideally across all products or income protection claims with a DA OR a strong background in managing end-to-end workers compensation claims with an allied health or legal degreeStrong knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and industry frameworks (Life Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy, etc.).Qualification in legal or allied health will be highly regardedExcellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and manage expectations with multiple stakeholders.A passion for developing others through coaching and mentoringAdditional InformationTAL is one of Australia’s leading life insurers, committed to inclusion, and supporting the career growth of our diverse workforce.
