GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Claims Director, the Claims Education and Compliance Supervisor will take the initiative to collaborate with claims leadership to accomplish the claim department’s vision. They will drive continuous improvement by evaluating the performance of the department staff and executing effective training. Their primary focus will be anticipating and exceeding our customers’ expectations through an exceptional quality claims experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
· Prior claims leadership experience is preferred.
· Experience with litigation is preferred.
· Extensive experience in adjusting property and/or casualty/material damage claims, including a comprehensive understanding of insurance policies, liability, evaluation, and reserving.
· Computer skills and knowledge of various software required.
· Influence and relationship building within the claims department and all other departments along with agency partners, vendors, and attorneys.
· Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task effectively.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

· Demonstrate influence through collaboration and engagement of staff with a focus on our customers’ perspective. Model and build understanding around the need for positive change within the department.
· Design and deliver training as needed to ensure compliance with the Claims Best Practices. Determines the topics of focus through a thorough analysis of departmental needs. Engage supervisors and developmental candidates in facilitating training.
· Advance development of employees through coaching including side by sides and ride-alongs with supervisors and technical staff.
· Monitor claim compliance as it pertains to claims practices and company policy through regular audits. Performance issues should be addressed with training, additional resources, or process change.
· Develop and maintain performance metrics to support departmental business plan goals and identify best practices as well as areas to improve.
· Develop relationships with vendors and evaluate their performance and cost-effectiveness to consistently meet the department’s expectations.
· Assist the storm coordinator following a storm event to ensure staff is ready to respond to such events promptly and effectively. They will assist with the orientation process when independent adjusters are brought in to help with an event. Will provide management with post-event analysis and effectuate changes to be made for future storm response.
