Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Swiss Re Corporate Solutions business is looking for a pro-active, highly motivated and results oriented individual to join the Claims team. Located in Toronto, your focus would be comprehensive in scope and include rotations on teams across several lines of business and supporting special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle a caseload of Property, Casualty, and Errors & Omissions (E&O) claims from first report to final resolution
  • Direct independent adjusters, appraisers, experts and coverage/defense counsel
  • Maintain strong customer focus by aggressively and proactively researching issues, providing support and assuring customer satisfaction in a timely fashion
  • Support Underwriting team needs for claim information and consultation on coverages
  • Investigate, evaluate and settle claims, applying technical knowledge and people skills to effect fair and prompt claim resolution
  • Complete detailed reviews of claim-related issues, including coverage, liability and damage and document the claim file appropriately
  • Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expense reserves
  • Analyze and present claims data and trends using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Participate in client/broker meetings, mediations, and other claim-related events
