Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Claims Handler role maximises the benefits of our supplier relationships with particular focus on reducing our claims spend and increasing credit services and TP intervention opportunities along with recovering outstanding/open claims

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all supply partners deliver services in line with agreed SLAs, KPIs, and budget expectations, including the conversion of Credit Hire opportunities.
  • Make timely and appropriate liability decisions, working with supply partners to settle claims within delegated authority and achieve claim reduction targets through thorough investigations.
  • Efficiently manage and recover ULR claims in-house to minimise financial loss, and ensure reserves are correctly placed and updated, especially for high-value claims.
  • Act as the main point of contact for escalations involving accidents or incidents, supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct driver training sessions, analyse telematics data, and provide actionable feedback to improve driver performance and reduce accident frequency.
  • Maximise the use of the company’s telematics system to support driving standards, safety initiatives, and reduction in claim costs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the Fleet Management System to support operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present weekly reports on claims performance, costs, and improvement recommendations using evidence-based metrics for the senior management team.
