We are currently recruiting for a Manager Claims (Professional Lines – Cyber & Tech E&O) in West Hartford, CT (hybrid in-office 2 days required). This is an AVP level, Team Manager responsible for leading a team of claims professionals who are handling claims, including matters in litigation, involving Cyber, Technology PL, Media and Crime. The manager will develop, manage, and motivate a high-performing team and have excellent technical claims handling including complex coverage analysis, people management, and leadership skills. 180K – 205K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.A./B.S degree from an accredited College or University, JD degree from an ABA accredited law school is preferred
  • 10+ years of claims handling experience with 5+ years of experience handling Cyber, Tech E&O and Media. Cyber and Tech E&O are a must.
  • 3-4+ years of Claims team management experience
  • Expert knowledge of claims handling: coverage analysis, litigation management and negotiation
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated efforts to advance product innovation, improve claims processes and/or develop a greater understanding of other aspects of the business
  • Technical leader with ability to respond to challenges that may arise

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for team performance and growth, driving employee engagement and individual development as well as providing feedback to the team, including the performance management process
  • Allocate new claims, reopened claims, and claims transfer due to severity
  • Review coverage analysis drafted by team, including denials
  • Drive litigation management for team
  • Act as the escalation point for customers and brokers
  • Drive Key Performance Indicators and adherence to Best Practices
  • Identify and provide solutions for key issues and trends to senior management
  • Prepare for and participate in Roundtable presentations
  • Partner with VP and/or Director in presenting reserve analysis and claims trends
  • Participate in the Claims/UW/Actuarial feedback loop
  • Partner with HR in managing recruitment and on-boarding
