ABOUT US

OUTsurance is Ireland’s newest insurer, bringing fresh energy to the market with a strong customer-first philosophy. We offer both home and motor insurance products and are committed to making a positive impact on the Irish insurance industry — delivering outstanding service, fair outcomes, and genuine care for our customers when they need us most.
As part of our continued growth, we’re building a high-performing Motor Claims team. We’re now looking for an experienced Motor Assessor to join our team and help us deliver best-in-class motor claims outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a technically strong, solutions-focused motor expert who is passionate about delivering fair and efficient claim outcomes, while safeguarding insurer interests.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Motor Assessor, Engineer, Vehicle Damage Estimator, or similar role.
  • Proven experience handling complex or high-value motor claims, including both high value repairs and total losses
  • Strong understanding of repair methodologies, vehicle valuation, depreciation, and salvage processes.
  • Proficient with vehicle estimating systems (e.g., Audatex or similar).
  • Excellent report writing and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities

This is a hands-on technical role that will see you take ownership of complex and high-value motor damage claims, carrying out desktop assessments and field inspections where needed. You will also act as the in-house technical expert for the motor claims function, supporting our claims advisors with technical queries and ensuring quality outcomes for both OUTsurance and our customers.

You will play a key part in helping us establish and grow our motor claims capabilities, with additional responsibilities including:

  • Carrying out desktop assessments of vehicle damage claims.
  • Conducting field inspections and damage assessments when necessary.
  • Acting as a technical referral point for claims advisors on repair methodologies, pre-accident values, repairability vs. total loss decisions, and salvage matters.
  • Assisting in the development and technical training of the Motor Claims team.
  • Supporting the procurement and management of motor service providers, including repairers, salvage agents, hire companies, and engineers.
  • Reviewing and validating repair estimates and engineering reports to ensure fairness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Helping to build and refine motor claims procedures, technical guidelines, and assessment frameworks.
  • Ensuring compliance with OUTsurance quality standards, Central Bank of Ireland regulations, and Consumer Protection Code obligations.
