The Third-Party Liability (TPL) Unit is looking for a strong professional and team player to assist in recovering the Crown’s health care costs related to personal injury matters.
As a Claims Officer, you act on behalf of the Government of Alberta in recovering personal injury costs. Specifically, you work under the authority of the Crown’s Right of Recovery Act and assist in recovering the costs for health care that were the result of injuries suffered due to the wrongful act or omission of a third party.
You will actively pursue the recovery of health service costs incurred by the Crown of up to $75,000.00 on behalf of recipients injured due to the wrongdoing of third parties. You will do so in accordance with the Crown’s Right of Recovery Act and regulations and pursuant to the ThirdParty Liability unit policies and procedures.
You will also collaborate with government departments (e.g., Alberta Justice), insurance companies across Canada and the United States, legal professionals, and members of the public.
