Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Please see more information about QBE careers here Location: Melbourne Permanent role with full time hours Hybrid working The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Claims Officer to join QBE’s Liability Claims Team in a fast‑track Property Damage role. This position is well suited to candidates with experience in property claims, including complex or fast‑track property damage environments, who are looking to broaden their claims experience in the liability space. In this role, you’ll manage Property Damage liability claims, ensuring matters are handled accurately, fairly and in line with legislative and internal requirements. Your new role Manage Property Damage liability claims end‑to‑end, from initial assessment through to resolution Review claim details, assess coverage, and progress matters through the claim’s lifecycle Interpret policy information and escalate more complex matters when required Build and maintaining strong relationships with insureds, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public Ensure claims are handled in line with statutory obligations, internal standards and privacy requirements Support recoveries from third parties and respond to enquiries in a timely and professional manner About you Experience managing complex property or fast‑track property damage claims and/or legal qualifications Strong attention to detail, with the ability to assess information and make sound decisions Willingness to learn liability concepts and build technical capability in this space Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with underwriting procedures, policy wordings, investigation reports and the General Insurance Code of Practice Able to manage a diverse claims portfolio, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, with strong organisation, time management and prioritisation skills Benefits We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances.
