CLAIMS ANALYST

As Claims Analyst, you will be responsible for providing an efficient service to the business by observing and adhering to our values and code of conduct and best practice procedures as outlined by the Head of Claims. You will employ your exceptional customer service experience, and with your Collaborative attitude and approach to achieving business goals and your ability to build effective working relationships (internally/externally), you will establish credibility amongst a wide and demanding client group, including the open sharing of information and cross department teamwork.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Maintaining full responsibility for a portfolio of Assumed Reinsurance claims including ensuring data reflects accurate position in accordance with the reinsurance contract terms. The portfolio mainly involves excess of loss reinsurance with some involvement in proportional reinsurance contracts, primarily related to property lines of business and some casualty.
- Understanding the reinsurance contracts and reviewing incoming and existing claims to verify coverage, evaluate exposure, post reserves, consider additional case reserves, and authorize claim payments within our service standards.
- Liaising with Brokers, Underwriters, Actuaries, and Claims management as required to ensure all stakeholders are fully briefed, including participation and preparation for Claims meetings
- Working on reviews and projects as may be requested by line manager and fully inform of progress and issues of everyday business and specific projects.
- Maintaining awareness of ongoing internal initiatives that could have a direct impact on services within area of responsibility
- Administer assigned portfolio of claims in accordance with the Global Claims Handling Guidelines and regional business process.
- Processing of claims reserve and payments within established timeframes, ensuring that all Claims records are accurate and up to date, including the review of data quality reports, whilst ensuring all claims are signed off in accordance with agreed authority levels.
- Ensuring all supporting documentation is associated to the appropriate Claim record, maintaining both current and historic electronic files on existing claims
- Confirming information as requested for the Letter of Credit process
- Proactively and efficiently managing of workload, ensuring workflow procedures are adhered to and issues escalated accordingly
- Collaborating with other regional claim departments as required, focusing on identification of major loss exposures, loss trends.
You will report to Head of Claims, Bermuda.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, specifically in the Reinsurance/Insurance Industry.
- The role requires individuals of college graduate caliber
- Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
- Up to date appreciation of the technical requirements of the role e.g., demonstrate a good understanding of Reinsurance/Insurance contracts, claims terminology and calculations
- Proven track record of knowing what it takes to provide a consistently first-class customer service internally and/or externally
- Close attention to financial detail, strong analytical and writing skills
- A willingness to ask questions and explore new ideas that facilitate efficiency and continuous improvement, together with an eagerness to learn and improve technical skills
- Able to organize self-including effective scheduling, prioritization, and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude
- Previous experience with Reinsurance & Claims administration systems
- Multi-lingual (Spanish & English) is required
