Job Summary: Supervise the claims department to maintain the service and productivity level of standards Essential Functions: Monitoring turnaround time, inventory, examiner production, data entry production and automated production Assist examiners and other staff members in questions as to claim process, interpretation of plan design and language, clients, participants and providers questions, claim rules Assist in claims processing as needed Answer and correspond to necessary inquiries verbally and written including appeals and claim service pre-determinations Assist in the customer service phone line queue as needed Handle projects that relate to the claims area Coordinate projects as needed and directed by Vice President of Operations and Director of Claims and Customer Service Prepare, coordinate and revise procedures as needed Supervision of positions reporting to Claims Supervisor Hire necessary staff force, prepare annual reviews, coordinate vacations schedule, evaluate and discipline staff Role model for employees Recognize and reward employee performance/results Recommend changes for improvement Nonessential Functions: Other duties as assigned or appropriate Education/Qualifications: Medical terminology Previous experience in Medical Insurance and/or third party administration Previous experience in a leadership role Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Excellent written/verbal communication skills Bachelors Degree and 2-4 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
