Job Description Are you passionate about developing people, shaping technical expertise, and supporting a high‑performing claims function? We’re looking for a Claims Technical Training Specialist to help build and deliver an exceptional learning experience across Retail Protection Claims. You’ll play a key role in strengthening technical capability, enhancing customer outcomes, and supporting assessors across a broad range of claim types, including a strong focus on Income Protection. What you'll be doing: Designing and delivering high‑quality technical training to new and experienced claims assessors Creating and updating training content, materials and evaluation methods that align with Claims philosophy Providing technical guidance and coaching on complex claims including Death, Critical Illness, Terminal Illness, PTD and Income Protection Supporting assessors through case checking, constructive feedback and tailored development Identifying training needs through recruitment activity, performance insights and customer feedback Building and maintaining strong working relationships with Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Conduct, Reinsurers and other stakeholders Embedding regulatory expectations, good customer outcomes and best practice across all training activity Contributing to the development of the Claims Technical Academy by researching and implementing new training approaches Qualifications Who we're looking for: Extensive experience in claims assessment, with strong technical knowledge of Income Protection A thorough understanding of protection products, claims processes and end‑to‑end case management Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and support others Confidence in making technical decisions and offering guidance on complex or sensitive claim scenarios Experience analysing results or trends and translating insights into clear training solutions The ability to build positive relationships and influence effectively across teams A proactive, flexible approach, with openness to new learning methodologies and continuous improvement A commitment to delivering fair treatment and positive outcomes for customers Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
