EXPERIENCE

  • Valid BC Class 1 driver’s licence
  • Minimum 3 years of recent commercial driving experience (required)
  • Clean driving record with no major violations or suspensions
  • Previous teaching or mentoring experience is an asset, but not required
  • Experience operating a variety of commercial vehicles, including manual transmissions
  • Familiarity with ICBC road testing procedures and safety standards is an asset
  • Comfortable working with adult learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain patient, calm, and professional under pressure

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging driver training for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 licensing programs and code 07 and 20
  • Instruct students in both in-vehicle and in-yard driving techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student learning and skill development
  • Maintain accurate student records, training logs, and assessment forms
  • Prepare students for ICBC road tests by teaching exam requirements and evaluating readiness
  • Ensure all instruction aligns with ICBC standards and curriculum guidelines
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and respect at all times
  • Participate in instructor development and certification programs as needed
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns
  • Collaborate with administrative staff and fellow instructors to support student success
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends
