DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Class 1 driver / Driver Assessor to play a vital role in our distribution service.

Responsibilities

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

  • Work closely with Transport FLM’s, Transport Managers & the AMCoE to ensure we train our Drivers to be the safest, most efficient and customer focused.
  • Regularly monitor Drivers with telematics and compliance reporting as well as in cab coaching to improve standards
  • To assess and train drivers in line with DHL’s policies and procedures, including SMITHS System
  • To manage and maintain a driver training matrix
  • Deliver fuel economy and defensive driver training
  • Support the driver assessment / recruitment process
  • Professional control and management of all documentation associated with training, ensuring DHL Training records are up to date and that data protection rights are adheared too.
  • Carry out targeted assessments with drivers to encourage driver improvements
  • Support accident and incident investigations, understanding the root cause and drive corrective actions to reduce future risks.
  • Identify/recognise drivers who have made extensive improvements in their roles and responsibilities
  • Support the delivery Class room training to Drivers
  • Working towards reducing Driver risks, DDA’s will undergo ongoing assessments to evaluate training their techniques/behaviours used to train our drivers
  • Drive in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
  • Comply with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations

THIS ROLE REQUIRES 2 YEARS CLASS 1 AND DRIVER ASSESSOR EXPERIENCE

  • Transport Knowledge / Transport Legislation
  • Previous experience of working with in a transport operation
  • Ability to facilitate and conduct daily training as and when required
