Description

We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team based in Corby, NN17, Northamptonshire. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record operating articulated vehicles and a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
As a key member of the transport team, you will work closely with Transport Planners, Transport Operators, Compliance, Security, Transport Managers, and the Customer Service team to ensure all deliveries are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will play an important role in upholding our operational performance and customer satisfaction. This is a full-time, permanent position within our Logistics fleet, offering a Monday to Friday day shift schedule. The role pays £15.79 per hour, with weekly pay every Friday—perfect timing ahead of the weekend.

WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR CLASS 1 HGV DRIVER:

  • Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) license, with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Up-to-date CPC and Tacho card
  • A strong safety record and professional attitude
  • For insurance purposes, your licence must show: no more than 6 penalty points and no unspent endorsements other than speeding
  • A team player who’s dependable and customer-focused

Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office to receive and confirm delivery instructions
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and keep an up-to-date defect log in line with company policy
  • Clean and inspect your vehicle to ensure it remains in safe and roadworthy condition
  • Obtain customer signatures for goods collected and/or delivered, ensuring accurate record keeping
  • Assist with manual loading and unloading of goods when required, ensuring care and efficiency
  • Ensure the driver app is used correctly and kept up to date at all times to support operational visibility and compliance
