Drivetek Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced HGV 1 Driver to operate an HGV vehicle with flatbed for delivering palleted and bagged aggregates, as well as loose materials when required, to customers in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport goods and materials efficiently from one location to another.
- Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer interactions.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Commercial Driving Licence (Categories C+E).
- Previous flatbed experience is essential.
- Possess basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent driving record with no significant traffic violations.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physically fit to handle the demands of the job.
- You must also have a full UK driving licence with Category C+E (HGV 1) , with no more than six penalty points. Unfortunately, endorsements for DR, DD, or IN10 cannot be accepted due to insurance restrictions.
- Knowledge of the local areas around Essex and Suffolk is important, as this is where most of the work will take place.
- A strong work ethic and reliability are essential.
