Based in Livingston, Scotland, this role reports to the Warehouse and Distribution manager, this role is an integral part of a busy Despatch Department dealing with customers and a wide range of departments within the business.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Must be able to drive up to 18-ton vehicles.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours (Early starts, Late finishes). And some nights away from home and weekend work as when the business dictates.
  • Full driving licence (Must not exceed 6 penalty points).
  • Must possess your own digital tachograph card.
  • Must be CPC qualified.
  • Holding a forklift truck licence is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Be punctual and of a smart appearance.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Be organised.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Be IT literate to a competent user level.
  • Be willing and available to attend offsite training courses as required to fulfil this duty.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out deliveries throughout the United Kingdom and other countries when required.
  • Must be fit and healthy as heavy lifting involved
  • Will assist on site under instruction of a project manager/supervisor.
  • At short notice you may be redirected due to the nature of our business.
  • Maintain truck logs according to the rules on driver’s hours and tachograph’s whilst ensuring that driver’s hours are kept within the legal requirement as set by the DVLA.
  • Operate equipment on vehicles to load and unload.
  • Position blocks and tie ropes around items to secure products for delivery.
  • Obtain customer signatures and clear printed name or collect payments for goods delivered.
  • Assist in manually loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
  • Responsible for cleaning, inspecting and servicing delivery vehicles used.
  • Carry out inspection of goods on receipt.
  • Enter goods received into the computer system and correlate with purchase orders.
  • Allocation of goods with specific job number or designated location.
  • Accurately pick stock items for prompt issue to internal departments.
  • Update and maintain accurate record keeping onto computer system.
  • Assist with annual and random stock checks.
  • Ensure warehouse and outside area is kept tidy always.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Any other duties as commensurate within the position and within your skill set.
