William Waugh (Edinburgh) Ltd is a long-established, family-owned and run metal recycler based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
We currently have a vacancy for an Edinburgh-based, experienced Class 2 RoRo Driver to join our business which operates from our Granton depot in Edinburgh. The Class 2 Driver will be responsible for daily checks of the vehicle, for following a schedule of work in a timely manner and operating multi-lift equipment safely and effectively. The driver will report to the Operations Director for the work schedule and the Transport Manager for maintenance and driving time regulation compliance.
The successful candidate must be a be a high-quality driver, a self-motivated team player, and able to provide excellent customer service. You will work effectively to time scales whilst working in a cooperative and flexible manner to cater for the varied needs of the business.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

Ÿ Class 2 Driving Licence (held for a minimum of two years)
Ÿ Valid CPC
Ÿ Previous experience using hook loader equipment.
Ÿ An understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements
Ÿ Excellent understanding of driving time regulations
Ÿ Strong verbal communication skills
Ÿ Punctual and reliable
Ÿ A knowledge of metal recycling is desirable, but not essential.
Ÿ A flexible and proactive approach
Ÿ A driven and positive attitude

Responsibilities

Ÿ Day to day inspection of the vehicle, ensuring good working order and reporting any defects or issues in a timely manner.
Ÿ Complying with all health and safety requirements and complying with site rules at all sites.
Ÿ Following a schedule of work in a timely manner.
Ÿ Communicating effectively with the transport function of the business to ensure good customer service is always maintained.
Ÿ Delivering material, exchanging RoRo boxes, or collecting material whilst adhering to customer requirements where needed.
Ÿ Reporting incidents immediately and acting with integrity should an incident arise.
