Position Overview: Our Warehouse Department is seeking to hire a Class A CDL Delivery Driver with 1-3 years of experience who can also install appliances to join our Rochester branch. Responsibilities: Adhere to all D.O.T rules and regulations. Hands-on loading and unloading of product that is received into individual daily routes and secure loads. Hands on installation of various appliances (Knowledge of water lines, gas lines, etc). Move skids using a manual pallet jack and other material handling equipment. Complete and maintain paperwork from the day’s work including vendor pick-ups, inter-branch transfers and truck logs. Provide information to Dispatcher throughout the day, such as delivery times, road delays, vehicle issues, etc. Ensure truck cab and bed are emptied and cleared daily at the end of every shift. Prepare and schedule maintenance on vehicles to determine needed repairs or inspections. Assist with delivery and unload/reload inter-company transfers between Rochester and other Upstate VP Supply branches. Deliver customer product via truck mounted forklift when necessary. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience driving tractor trailers or semi-trucks. Must have CDL, Class A and clean driving record. Must have experience installing various appliances with knowledge of gas and water lines. Experience driving 53’ trailers and have ability to connect/disconnect tractor. Territorial knowledge of Monroe County and surrounding areas. Ability to climb on and off the back of a truck, using side steps. Must be able to undergo a motor vehicle and drug screening check. Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location. Work Environment/Physical Demands: This job requires flexibility in hours from 6 AM until daily deliveries are complete. This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift 50-75 pounds.

Responsibilities

The Class A CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for adhering to D.O.T regulations, loading and unloading products, and installing appliances. They will also maintain paperwork and communicate with the dispatcher regarding delivery updates.
