Description Job Summary : The Yard Clerk works directly with all lumber and building materials in the lumber yard. Duties include but are not limited to stocking lumber, building orders and keeping the yard organized. This position is physically demanding and includes heavy lifting and working outdoors through the summer and winter. Summary of essential job f unctions : Cuts lumber, screening and related materials to size requested by customer. Operates forklift safely and effectively to load, unload and move materials in the yard. Informs store management or personnel of any customer complaints or requests in a timely manner. Loads product on to store delivery trucks for delivery and transfer. Makes deliveries to customer locations. Moves materials and supplies from receiving area to yard or warehouse. Stacks materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in all areas on a daily basis. Covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage. Assists with unloading deliveries as needed. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the yard by keeping ground free of clutter and trash. Complies with all company safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum requirements: Able to communicate with associates and customers clearly. Able to follow directions and complete tasks. Possess the skills to read, count and write accurately. The capacity to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job. Must have current driver's license and be able to meet the driver eligibility guidelines for the Company. Abilities required: Physical ability to stand for extended periods. Move and handle boxes and merchandise which entails lifting frequently 100 pounds. Work outside in various types of weather. Perform all functions as set forth above. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Responsibilities

The Yard Clerk is responsible for cutting lumber to customer specifications, operating forklifts to manage materials, and ensuring the yard is organized and clean. Additional duties include loading products for delivery and addressing customer complaints.
