Description

Caruso is a family owned, 4th generation company that delivers fresh ready-to-eat, and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores all over the USA and we are growing! We are looking for experienced Class A Drivers out of Smyrna, TN. This is home daily. Pick up time is between 10:30 am and 4:00 pm and the route will go to either Atlanta, GA or Memphis, TN. Minimal Touch Freight. Weekend work is required but we do rotate. Responsibilities: * Transport goods to and from manufacturing plant and to other depots. * Inspect vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues, and perform preventive maintenance. * Meet Delivery schedules. * Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. * Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures. * Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. * Collect and verify delivery instructions. * Report defects, accidents, or violations. Must be at least 21 years of age. 2. Must have Class A License. 3. Must have at least 9 months of verifiable experience in the last 3 years. 4. Must have a good driving record with none of the following violations: * Reckless driving * DUI/OMVI * Hit and Run * Excessive Speed as defined by DOT (15+ miles over) * No Preventable Accidents. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 24 months. 5. Ability to work and drive in all types of weather. 6. Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies, and procedures. 7. Excellent and prompt attendance each day scheduled. 8. Experience with refrigerated products and previous route delivery is a plus.

Responsibilities

Transport fresh produce and meal kits from manufacturing plants to retail distribution centers and stores. Perform vehicle safety inspections and maintain accurate logs of driving hours and fuel receipts.
